Seymour Mong , Ph.D.
Dr. Seymour Mong is currently Executive Advisor of the Development Center for Biotechnology, Taiwan.
Dr. Mong built his R&D career over two decades of experience from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. In his last capacity, he was the general manager of Isis Singapore Ltd, and oversaw the discovery and preclinical development of antisense therapeutics for the treatment of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Prior to that stint, he was critically engaged in the discovery research for endothelin receptor antagonists and the preclinical development of organ/tissue transplant rejection drug FK506. Dr. Mong has the post graduate training from Baylor College of Medicine molecular and classical pharmacology. Dr. Mong authored over 150 scientific publications covering the topics from molecular mechanisms of receptor signal transduction to preclinical and clinical drug development.
