Kam Li, J.D.

Kam W. Li is a partner with Procopio, one of the oldest and largest firms in San Diego. Mr. Li focuses his practice on intellectual property, unfair competition laws, international transactions and related litigation. His clients include major multinational corporations and institutions in the U.S. and overseas.

Mr. Li appears frequently as a guest speaker at professional conferences on intellectual property, international transactions and technology deployment issues. He is a former president of the Pan-Asian Lawyers Association and actively provides pro-bono services to the Asian-American community. Mr. Li is a consultant to the San Diego World Trade Center and serves on the International Business Committee of the San Diego Telecom Council and the San Diego Software Industry Council. He has been appointed as the Senior Overseas Counsel for the IT Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association. Mr. Li is a former member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Li received his Bachelor of Science with High Distinction (72) and Master of Science (1975) in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona. Mr. Li received his Juris Doctorate degree (1981) from the University of San Diego Law School. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California, the United States Federal Courts and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Li is a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and also a registered professional engineer in the State of California.

Before his legal career, he was an engineer involved in technology development in the energy field. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese.
